Wild Japan
Despite the country's small size, Japan has a vast array of landscapes that are divided into three distinctive climatic zones: the Siberian sub-arctic zone in the northern island of Hokkaido, the temperate zone of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, and the sub-tropical zone encompassing the islands of Okinawa. Over 90,000 animal species have been confirmed in Japan and its diverse habitats support rich biodiversity. Despite the fact that it is highly urbanised and crowded in the cities, the Japanese have an intense appreciation for natural beauty. They welcome nature's intrusion into their everyday lives.

These elegant birds mate for life and renew their courtship every year by dancing for their mate and oftentimes together.They move like graceful ballerinas.
