East Greenland, which is very different than west Greenland, was isolated for thousands of years.The sea off of East Greenland's coast is frozen in winter and ships can only navigate there from July to September. This fact prevented colonialization and restricted influence from European culture for a long time. The thousands of years isolation are a unique benefit for anyone who visits East Greenland. East Greenland is a breathtaking natural spectacle with an endless starry sky that seems to broadcast the northern lights during the winter months. Musk oxen, polar bears, whales, seals, massive icebergs, glaciers, and colors so intense that they seem to embrace the whole spectrum of light - that is wild East Greenland.
